I can't feel anything. It's all numb, all black, all nothingness. I can't see, can't taste, can't smell, can't feel, but I can hear. I can hear little noises, little things that sound almost like words. There are little peaks, climaxes in the sound where it gets so loud I can almost understand it. I want to listen. I want to see. My whole body aches. I draw in a tight breath, but I choke halfway through. I push myself up into a sitting position, coughing and spluttering. Only now do I realize how deathly cold it is. 'How odd,' I think to myself. 'How did I end up out here?' There's a nagging at the back of my mind, a feeling that I can't shake. The ice covering my family's pond feels hard and cold, and blankets of snow cover my legs. Standing up, I try and shake off the strange feelings. "You're alright," I tell myself. The last thing I remember is laughing with my husband. Then everything went black. A knife rips through the skin on my side. I cry out, but I won't give them any more than that. I'm not weak. I have to stay strong for him. He lifts up my head and puts the knife to my lips. Some of the blood drips into my mouth. He puts the tip to the edge of my lip and slices my skin all the way to my ear, and then he does it again on the other side. Seeing myself on the other side of the glass, it's not that comforting. I watch as my skin turns ashen, my eyes sink into my head and roll upwards, my hair falls out, blood spews from my lips. I watch as my knees buckle and I slide down the wall, my arms bend backwards as I try to catch myself, my fingernails scratching bloody trails on my way down. I'm feeling different today.

     My name is Kei.     I am a pessimist     I see the glass half empty.     I have stage fright.     I can't talk in front of a crown or group of people, no matter how small or large.     I cry when I'm angry.     I hate talking about my feelings.     I am afraid of failure.     I am afraid of being left out or talked about behind my back by the people that I call friends.     I hope that my friends actually like me.     I hope that they know I'm there for them.     I hope that they know they can always come to me for anything.     I love to sing.     I love to laugh.     I love my friends.     I love art.
